A Message From Supervisor Kate Murray

Dear Friends,

Each New Year finds recreation enthusiasts somewhat “exercised” by Old Man Winter’s cold and blustery conditions. As winter proceeds, fair weather activities like tennis, softball, soccer and lacrosse concede to a seasonal hibernation as we patiently await the first bloom of spring.

Even when temperatures dip below the freezing mark, the action remains “red hot” in Hempstead Town parks. The Echo Park fitness complex affords an enticing oasis to winter’s chill with indoor swimming and diving. Ice skaters and hockey players will love the comfort and convenience of the enclosed rink at Newbridge Arena.

As always there is a winter wonderland of exercise, art and dance classes to enjoy. Exciting adventures, fascinating lectures and historical reflections are also yours for the taking.

So, if you’re hearty enough to brave the winter chill why not get a healthy jump on the New Year by joining one of the many fun-filled parks activities detailed in this brochure. Let’s give Old Man Winter the “cold” shoulder as we play our way towards spring in America’s largest township.
