Summer of Love

Adopt a Cat or Dog For Free
June 16 through September 12, 2014

Supervisor Kate Murray and members of Rock & Rawhide
invite you to adopt!

Love is in the Air...It Must be Summertime!

This summer, love is in the air, and if you listen closely, so are the barks and meows coming from the Hempstead Town Animal Shelter where cuddly cats and dogs are waiting for a permanent home with YOU. The town is once again celebrating the "Summer of Love" at the Animal Shelter, which means that all pet adoption fees will be waived from June 16th through September 12th. Your free adoption also includes free spay/neuter, rabies vaccinations, age-appropriate shots and microchipping (all cats will be tested for feline AIDS/leukemia).

Adopting a Pet is a "Cool" Thing to do in the Heat of Summer.

The Animal Shelter staff stands ready to assist all interested adopters, and help you find the perfect pet. The shelter is located at 3320 Beltagh Avenue in Wantagh, and is open for adoptions Tuesday through Sunday. Click here for adoption hours.

Love is in the Air...and Online!

The town Animal Shelter encourages residents to find their unconditional love online. Prospective adopters can browse photos and information about our adoptable dogs and cats by clicking here.

Found Love? Give Them a Gift!

A full wallet isn't the only thing "Summer of Love" adopters will take home. Thanks to our generous and dedicated sponsors, all adopters will go home with free gifts for each adopted pet. Dog Grooming by Rachel, located in Bellmore, is providing one free grooming for dogs and a free gift for cats. Island Trees Veterinary Hospital, located in Hicksville, will provide a free exam and a $25 coupon towards veterinary services. Fido Fitness Club in Woodmere will provide one free training class.
