Four of Long Island's most beautiful South Shore beaches are located in the Town of Hempstead. Ocean beachfronts at Point Lookout, Lido, Lido West and Sands are open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, with a vehicle entrance fee of $10 for town residents and $25 for non-residents.
In addition to the sand and surf, the town's beach parks feature assorted recreational attractions. Sands includes an outdoor pool, basketball and handball courts, and picnic gazebos. Lido West features outdoor tennis courts. The beach park at Lido is one of the township's most exciting recreational complexes with a ballfield, tennis, basketball, shuffleboard, bocci, horseshoe and paddle ball courts, outdoor pools and a picnic area with outdoor tables and enclosures.
In addition to its four beaches along the Atlantic shoreline, the town also operates a bay beach at Hewlett Point Park in Bay Park and a small beachfront along Hog Island Channel in the community of Harbor Isle.
Sands Family Picnic Beach or Lido Beach Town Park.
The two town beach parks are located side-by-side on Lido Boulevard in Lido Beach.
Both beaches offer the fun and excitement of sand and surf, picnic gazebos or enclosures, barbeques and outstanding recreational areas.
