Historic Rock Hall Hosts an Ol’ Fashioned Country Fair

Historic Rock Hall Museum in Lawrence hosts a true-to life, Civil War Encampment with the 30th Virginia Infantry Company B during the Annual Country Fair celebration on Saturday and Sunday, October 20 and 21. Supervisor Kate Murray invites visitors to enjoy a weekend of fun that includes a harvest market, scarecrow making, pumpkin patch, food court, pony rides, animal farm and craft area for children. “In addition to all the excitement of a country fair, a visit to Rock Hall Museum provides a wonderful opportunity to relive the sights and sounds of Colonial era Hempstead Town,” commented Supervisor Murray. “Along with the many country fair events, I invite you to tour the museum and experience an authentic 18th Century home and life-style.” With FREE admission and FREE parking, the fair runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 20 and Sunday, October 21. The museum is located at 199 Broadway in Lawrence. A busy weekend of Colonial era activities includes fascinating depictions of 18th Century cooking, games, music and craft making. There will also be regularly scheduled tours of the museum. The fair is highlighted by a variety of children’s activities including a colonial craft workshop (fee), a pumpkin patch, pony rides, scarecrow making (fee), games and contests. The Country Fair is one of many exciting events scheduled for Rock Hall in the months ahead.
