It’s the ‘Summer of Love’ at the Town Animal Shelter as All Pet Adoptions are Free; Local Vets, Groomers Providing Free Coupons for Each Adopted Pet

When spending a summer in the Town of Hempstead, you’ll enjoy complimentary sunshine, beautiful weather, and, for some, an ocean breeze. Also free this summer are all pet adoptions at the town Animal Shelter from June 17 to September 14, 2013 for the town’s annual “Summer of Love” pet adoption program.

In addition to having the adoption fee waived, all residents taking home a shelter dog or cat will receive free spay/neuter, rabies vaccinations, age-appropriate shots and microchipping (all cats will be tested for feline AIDS/leukemia). What’s more, local veterinary hospitals and pet groomers will be providing free coupons for each pet that is adopted from the shelter during this time.

Island Trees Veterinary Hospital, located in Hicksville, will provide a free exam and $25 coupon toward a veterinary service. Dog Grooming By Rachel, located in Bellmore, will provide one free grooming for dogs and/or a free gift for cats. West Hills Animal Hospital, located in Huntington, is offering a free exam (if pet is brought in within two weeks of adoption).

“The Animal Shelter would like to thank Island Trees Veterinary Hospital, Dog Grooming By Rachel and West Hills Animal Hospital for helping us adopt out our wonderful cats and dogs,” said Shelter Director Cindy Iacopella. “With these free coupons, no-cost adoptions and beautiful weather ahead, there’s no better time to adopt a new pet than during the Town of Hempstead’s ‘Summer of Love’ program.”
